Fastest way to rank 5 Vanguard?
My character is currently level 13 with rank 1 in the Vanguard track. I created her so one of my merc heroes could have Vanguard armor. What's going to be the quickest way to get her to rank 5? I was either thinking normal mode vanquishing (I know that sounds weird) of Charr territory or just finishing the game and turning in a completed hero book. Which would probably be quicker? Any suggestions for another way?

You missed the boat as we had a double Eye of the North reputation last weekend. You are level 13, so I am going to assume that HM is off the table for this discussion.
This leaves you with a few choices: 1. Complete EotN in NM. I think this will be by far the fastest. 2. Buy "secret missions" from other players. These grant you 1000 vanguard points a piece, and are best used as fillers. Those are the "easy" solutions to your request. |

Repeating Rise is very fast and easy, but it requires WiK and HotN.
Doing HM books can get to r7/r8 from r4 and it's not difficult with good heroes. Doing NM books is pretty easy and you can take henchies. And Special Opps ofc. Good luck ---------- If you have it done 10 times, you can do it under 7min. |

vader, do today's zbounty. You get the vanguard points regardless of what mode you do it in.
Do that plus a full hero's handbook should work (along with the points you'd get along the way). Or do the norn/asuar/EV parts, and then do the EV skill quests and turn in the partial hero's handbook. Once you get to lvl 20 and if money's not a big deal, get some dungeon runs that give EV points. Rragrars gives you 3k in HM the first time you finish, for example. 2,250 for Kathandrax HM. Or get to level 20 and vanquish two EV areas, that should more than do it. The OP is lvl 13 and just wants the armor to make a Merc...you want him to finish EoTN (which alone would get him to r5) and then do all of WiK to open up the Thackeray solo repeatable quests? |
